Google loves a faster website. The faster your site goes, the better your search results will be.
At CDNify we often use Google’s PageSpeed Insights tools for identifying potential issues with a site’s design and setup, whether its our own or a customers.
Up until this week, this incredibly useful has been hidden away in Google’s Developer site. However, Google have now integrated it into Google Analytics, meaning Analytics users can now easily find it under the content tab.
The good news is that this makes it much easier to see how your loading times are effecting site performance.
But that said, there are a few downsides, which hopefully will be sorted moving forward. The integration as it currently stands is not as tight as it could be. Whilst Google Analytics shows you what each page within your site scores, you will still need to head over to the Google Developer site to get the actual improvements, which is obviously the main feature.
Hopefully over the coming months Google will integrate this further to make it more useful but until then I recommend checking it out and running the test on your site.
